Dan King goes to College
I graduated from Blackford High School in 1976, and immediately went to work while raising two children. I've had no desire to go to college, until recently. After 26 years of work, I decided I was tired of my career and I would try college. The original idea was to go to school, get my teaching credential and start a new career before I hit 50. I wasn't prepared to enjoy college as much as I have. I'm having a ball. Maybe I'll spend more time than I originally planned as a student. I'm currently going to community college, Evergreen Valley College to be specific. It's close to home and $11 a unit. My first day at EVC, and first day at college, was on January 28, 2002, which was also my 44th birthday. I'm hoping to go to a four-year college (hopefully Stanford) starting Fall of 2003. It's an aggressive schedule to finish up two years worth of credits in a year and a half, but knock on wood, I haven't had too much trouble keeping up so far.
